Three generations.
One city.
Our founder was on a roof at eight years old, working beside his father and his grandfather. He started this company at seventeen. Everything MG Roofing does comes out of that.

Some people get into roofing. Our founder was born into it. What that buys you is not a story for a website — it is the twenty seconds it takes to look at a stain on your ceiling and know which flashing failed.
On a roof for the first time, carrying bundles and pulling nails alongside his father and his grandfather. Two generations of Philadelphia roofers, and a kid learning the trade the only way it actually gets learned.
Started his own company. Left the family crew and went out on his own name, in the same city, on the same kind of houses — with everything both of them had taught him.
MG Roofing Inc., licensed and insured in Pennsylvania, working residential roofs, flat roofs, siding, gutters, capping and windows across Philadelphia ever since.
What we mean by it

It is on the badge because it is the actual job. Nobody wakes up wanting a roof. What people want is for the thing under it — the house, the kids' bedrooms, the photographs in the attic, thirty years of a mortgage — to stay dry and stay theirs.
A roof is the only part of a house whose entire purpose is protecting everything else. Build it strong and you never think about it again. That is the whole point, and it is why we do the parts nobody sees the long way round.

Show, do not tell
Photographs of your roof before anything is quoted. If a contractor will not show you pictures of what they want to fix, that is your answer.
The honest no
We have walked off plenty of roofs and told people to spend nothing this year. It is not a lost sale — it is how you get the call in four years, and the neighbour's.
Do it the long way
Tear off rather than layer over. New flashing rather than caulk. Membrane at the eaves even when nobody would ever know. The parts you cannot see are the parts that decide.
Stay residential
We are not chasing warehouses. Houses are what three generations of this family have worked on and it is what we intend to keep being very good at.

We build with GAF roofing systems — shingles, starter, ridge cap, underlayment and ventilation from one manufacturer, installed to their spec, which is what makes the stronger system coverage possible in the first place.
